As a child, I hated breakfast. I was not a morning person and I still am not. However, whenever I'm in the mood for waking up early and taking breakfast, I would always make sure it's a blast.

Yesterday, I had a very nice sausage and egg combo. I love the freshness of the morning especially if things are not hurried.

I hope you share your own breakfast experiences.

I had a nasty case of Matcha cake urge over the weekend. Sleepless hours. Persistent imaginings. It reminded me of my depression and why i struggled with the food I eat (although, mind you, I don't have an eating disorder). Recently, I just wanted to have a slice of my favorite matcha cake.

The moment I had the chance (which was yesterday), I rushed to the mall and finally bought one. While watching my favorite TV shows, I got my favorite fix. Not all people love a bitter-tasting cake, but I do. The way the chocolate filling combines with the bitter taste is heavenly for me.

I still can remember traveling to Seattle way back and having a snack with my dad's then new flame (Oh no I didn't!) Alyssa one morning at Top Pot. The drizzle had stopped the day before so I did not fear slipping on wet cement with my pair o' ninja shoes (what my cousin calls them).

I asked Alyssa why she was so excited about me being at Top Pot. She replied that she somehow saw her old self (she ain't that old) when she was taken there by a friend of hers. She was oblivious of the delicious experience that was about to happen. I asked her, "Why Top Pot?" to which she quipped, "Why not?!"

Let me start by raving about three sinful edible treats that make me go weak: pancakes (usually served with chicken sausage), matcha cake (preferrably in tiramisu form), and pasta carbonara (nothing but pure yum).

What are yours?
